New York-- While already muse to husband Donald and the Donald J Pliner footwear line, Lisa has come out with a line all her own—Lisa for Donald J Pliner, which hits stores this month.
Already the creative director of the company for the past 10 years, Lisa is no stranger to the footwear business. But she puts her own spin on her line, which features a signature bright green undersole for that added recognition and pop. "I took what Donald stood for and added a new side of him with his techniques and my style,” says Lisa. “That’s how I came up with Lisa for Donald J Pliner."
Lisa’s line speaks to active women and mothers who are unwilling to sacrifice style for comfort. She mixes materials such as marbled corks, suede, haircalf, glass beads and studs. "The colors I picked for the Spring 2011 collection show what spring is about to me along with my green soles that mean life and peace,” says Lisa. “I used snake as my neutral, then added some pizzazz with hand painted colors of a rose or a blue. For most of my collection, I picked colors of citron, fuchsia, whites, beiges mixed with cork, leather flowers and tooling. All the materials and colors used were for a purpose—it’s a feel good collection."
For Spring 2011, a collection of super-soft water snake footwear caught our attention, particularly these stacked-heel style with ankle ruffles. Suggested retail price, $425
Philanthropy is also a key element for Lisa and her husband. Inspired by their adopted daughter from Kazakhstan, Lisa and Donald established the Peace for the Children Foundation in 2007 after visiting an orphanage in Kazakhstan, where they ultimately adopted their daughter Starr in 2004. Today their foundation helps fund playgrounds and other initiatives promoting peace, care and welfare to needy children.

Can you tell by the title that I love these? wire, studs, chains; this mask has all the hardwear you could ever want. Curse me for wearing glasses! I always have to miss out on the fun eye stuff. I insist that some fashion blogger out there purchase these and wear them to fashion week. Get them for $75.
Fringe Tights
They're kinda hideous and may possibly make your legs look like sea monsters, but these limited edition Woldford fringe tights certainly get your attention! Only a few hundred pairs were made, you can get yours at Tights Please for £199 or about $325 US Dollars. I'm a little traumatized that someone thought they could sell these for that much, and even more traumatized that the site claims to only have a few left.
