If I Was A Rich Girl : Spring 2010 Accessories

dia Monday, January 11, 2010
Style.com put out its seasonal accessory report yesterday, featuring high-quality product photos of the shoes, handbags, and jewelry from the Spring 2010 runway shows. Even though I clearly can't afford any of that stuff, I always like to pore through all the photos and pinpoint the things I like best -- kind of like creating a cheat sheet to check when the trends trickle down to the mainstream in a few months. (Not to mention that seeing all the great accessories from the runways in their final incarnations is exciting, and shit, a girl can dream, can't she?)

After I had compiled all my favorite pieces, I noticed that they fell into four pretty distinct trend categories, so I'm presenting them thusly. This stuff is just to die.

Spring Trend #1: Edgy Black & White
Tons of stark black-and-white pieces for spring; the items below only scratch the surface. The B&W stuff this season has more of an edge than seasons past -- lots of silver hardware and tough, sexy touches.
1.) Gucci leather handbag with metal embroidery.
2.) Dolce & Gabbana lace and mesh peep-toe bootie.
3.) Tabitha Simmons natural linen and suede Braidy flat with double ankle strap.
4.) Maria Francesca Pepe leather ankle boot.
5.) Versace Navajo-print Girl bag.
6.) Christian Dior python Detective briefcase.
7.) Yves St Laurent folded leather bag.
8.) Marc Jacobs leather pendant Imogen bag.
9.) Givenchy open-toe wedge platform with ankle strap.

Spring Trend #2: Chic Tribal
The whole ethnic boho thing that's been going on for a few seasons is showing no signs of waning, but for spring things are a little less hippie and a little more posh -- intricate beading, fresher, more geometric prints, and luxe exotic skins.
1.) Givenchy optical print open-toe wedge platform.
2.) Giambattista Valli tribal pailette evening clutch.
3.) Roger Vivier fringed suede sandal.
4.) Loeffler Randall leather Carlie strappy sandal.
5.) Christian Louboutin small Talita clutch.
6.) Roberto Cavalli suede gladiator flat.
7.) Brian Atwood snakeskin Albany platform with copper heel.
8.) Trussardi 1911 beaded handbag.
9.) Balmain flat leather sandal with multicolor tribal beading.
10.) Tod's python ballerina flat.
11.) Dries Van Noten embellished satin clutch.
12.) Trussardi 1911 beaded ankle boot.

Spring Trend #3: Blushes, Beiges, and Nudes
Every season has a couple of "it" colors, and if the runways are any indication (which...you know...they are), spring is going to be about pale shades of blush, pinky beiges, and soft nudes. They're an excellent neutral alternative and come off more sophisticated than straight pinks.
1.) Manolo Blahnik slim-back bootie.
2.) Fendi Firenze handbag.
3.) Alexander McQueen Titanic ballerina platform.
4.) Givenchy multi-strap platform wedge.
5.) Nicolas Kirkwood flat shoe.
6.) Camilla Skovgaard sandal wedge bootie.

Spring Trend #4: Crystal/Clear
Look out for lots of Lucite and plexi juxtaposed with honking hunks of crystal come spring, as well as transparent PVC handbags and shoes heavily embellished with crystal and silver hardware. The look is at once futuristic and organic.
1.) Prada transparent PVC handbag with leather handles.
2.) Eddie Borgo quartz cone bracelet.
3.) Janis by Janis Savitt antiqued silver chain with crystal.
4.) Hervé van der Straeten rock and crystal cuff.
5.) Erickson Beamon White Lies necklace.
6.) Vionnet clear studded clutch.
7.) Eddie Borgo quartz cone two-finger ring.
8.) Alexander McQueen brass sea urchin cuff.
9.) Fendi plexi clutch with grommet detail.
